What to pack for Cape Cod

Spring (March to May)

Spring on Cape Cod can be cool and wet, but it's also a lovely time to visit as the flowers start to bloom.

Clothing:

Light to medium-weight jackets
Sweaters and long-sleeve shirts
Jeans and comfortable pants
Waterproof shoes or boots
Rain jacket or umbrella

 

Accessories:

Sunglasses
Scarf and gloves for cooler days
Hat for sun protection

 

Extras:

Binoculars for bird watching
Camera for capturing the blooming landscapes

Summer (June to August)

Summer is the peak tourist season on Cape Cod, known for its warm, sunny weather and beautiful beaches.

Clothing:

Lightweight, breathable clothing (shorts, t-shirts, tank tops)
Swimsuits and beach cover-ups
Flip flops or sandals

Medium-weight jackets or sweaters

Jeans and comfortable pants
Comfortable walking shoes

Camera for capturing fall foliage

Winter (December to February)

Winter on Cape Cod can be cold and quiet, making it a peaceful retreat for those who enjoy off-season travel.

Clothing:

Heavy winter coat
Sweaters and thermal layers
Long-sleeve shirts and pants
Waterproof and insulated boots
Warm socks

 

Accessories:

Hat, gloves, and scarf
Sunglasses (the sun can be bright off the snow and water)
An umbrella for rainy days

 

Extras:

Books, puzzles, or indoor games for cozy indoor days
Camera for capturing winter landscapes
Binoculars for bird watching (especially waterfowl)

What to pack for any season (essentials)

  • Shampoo conditioner / bath soap / toothpaste
  • Beach towels
  • Beach chairs
  • Sports equipment (bikes, kayaks, etc)
  • Food, spices, cooking oils
  • Coffee filters
  • Charcoal for the grill (if not a gas grill, we provide propane for gas grills)
  •  IF your home has a washer and dryer listed, please bring laundry detergent. 

What DEL\MAR provides

 We provide a Starter-Kit but do not provide supplies for your entire visit. If you think you will need more than what is provided, please make sure to bring some with you or go to a local grocer.
 
  • 1-roll toilet paper per bathroom
  • 1-roll paper towel in the kitchen

  • Cleaning supplies
 We provide sheets and towels, and launder them after your visit. We provide 1 bath towel per guest based on the max occupancy of the home.

Frequently Asked Questions

How old do I need to be to rent a vacation home?

You must be at least 25 years old to book a rental home with us,  per Massachusetts law. An ID must be furnished upon request.

What if I accidentally damage something in the home?

Fortunately, you are covered up to $500 for accidental damage before your security deposit begins to cover damage. Accidents happen, so we always encourage guests to let us know.

What if an appliance breaks or I need help during my stay?

Our Guest Services team is available seven days a week from 8am to 7pm to assist you .We also provide 24hr emergency assistance to all our guests.

 
Can I have a wedding or a large party?

Our portfolio of homes is privately owned, and we do not allow weddings or any parties out of respect for our homeowner clients. We strictly adhere to owner preferences on occupancy and town ordinances as they relate to noise violations, and take appropriate action when necessary including, but not limited to, immediate eviction of Guests from the home.

 
Is there beach equipment available at the house?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that beach gear will be available at the home upon your arrival.. Many of our homeowners do leave chairs, umbrellas, and other beach gear that you are welcome to use.
